Uwell Crown 5 Replacement Bubble Glass

Uwell: The Brand That Made Pod Vaping Work

Uwell has been building vape hardware since 2015, and the Caliburn line is arguably the most influential pod system ever released. When people ask what to buy after quitting cigarettes, the answer on r/Vaping has been "a Caliburn" for years — because Uwell got the one thing right that most manufacturers still get wrong: a genuinely tight mouth-to-lung draw that feels like a cigarette rather than a wind tunnel. The other half of the reputation is Pro-FOCS, Uwell's flavor-testing process, and it shows up as coils that taste clean rather than muted. Community feedback isn't uniformly glowing — coil consistency draws occasional criticism, and some newer pod revisions have been received worse than the ones they replaced — but the core Caliburn platform remains the default recommendation for a reason. Uwell In Stock

Pod Kit

• Caliburn A3S 16W Pod Kit — $18.99. Draw-activated with no buttons and no settings: fill it, wait, inhale. The tightest MTL draw of anything we stock and our single strongest recommendation for someone switching from cigarettes. See more in pod kits and our best pod vapes guide.

Pods and Cartridges

• Caliburn G3 Replacement Pods — 4-pack — $15.99. For the Caliburn G3 series.
• Caliburn GPP Integrated Coil Cartridge — 3-pack — $12.99. The coil is built into the cartridge, so you replace the whole thing rather than fitting a separate coil. Pairs with the A3S and other GPP-compatible devices.

Full range in vape pods.

Tank Parts

• Crown 5 Replacement Bubble Glass — $3.99. Cracked glass is the most common failure on any sub-ohm tank, and this is a four-dollar fix instead of replacing the whole thing. See vape tanks and accessories.

Which Caliburn Pod Do You Need?

This is where most ordering mistakes happen. A brand match isn't enough — the series has to match exactly. Caliburn A2, A3, G, G2, G3, G3 Lite, GK2, and GPP pods are all different, and none of them cross over despite sharing the Caliburn name.

• Check the model name printed on your device, not just the box it came in.
• If you still have the old pod, the series is usually printed on it.
• Resistance matters too — the same pod shell often ships in multiple ohm ratings. Higher resistance (0.8Ω and up) is for nicotine salts; lower is for higher-wattage devices.

One thing worth knowing before you buy on capacity alone: several users have reported that Uwell's newer 3ml higher-resistance pods produce noticeably weaker flavor and vapor than the 2ml versions they replaced. If you liked how your old pod performed, matching the exact resistance matters more than getting a bigger tank.

Filling and Using a Caliburn

1. Find the fill port. Most Caliburn pods fill through a silicone-plugged port on the side or bottom. Pull the plug out fully rather than lifting an edge.
2. Fill along the wall, leaving a small air gap at the top. That air pocket maintains the pressure balance that stops leaks. Never force liquid down the center chimney — that's the airflow path.
3. Reseat the plug firmly. A partially seated plug is the most common cause of a leaking Caliburn.
4. Wait ten minutes before the first draw. The cotton needs time to fully saturate, and firing dry cotton burns it permanently in under a second. See how to prime a coil.
5. Draw gently. Caliburns are draw-activated on most models — a slow steady pull works better than a hard one, which floods the coil.

Locking and unlocking

Button-equipped Caliburn models (the G-series and above) lock with five rapid clicks of the fire button; the same sequence unlocks and powers the device on or off. Fully draw-activated models like the A3S have no button and no lock — if one seems dead, it's a charge or connection issue rather than a lock. If five clicks does nothing, charge for 20 minutes before concluding anything, since a flat battery won't respond to button input at all.

Troubleshooting

Caliburn not working or not hitting — work through this in order: charge it for 20 minutes; wipe the gold contact pins on the pod base and inside the device bay with a dry cotton swab (e-liquid residue here is the most common cause); reseat the pod until it clicks; check the USB-C port for lint and clear it with a dry toothpick, never metal; try a different cable. Not charging — usually a blocked port or a worn cable rather than a dead device. A cable that still charges your phone can be too degraded for a low-draw pod device. Burnt taste — under-priming, chain vaping, or a pod at the end of its life. Give the wick 20–30 seconds between draws. See why vapes taste burnt. Gurgling or leaking — a flooded coil from drawing too hard, overfilling, or a plug that isn't seated. See why vapes pop and crackle.

Uwell FAQs

What is Uwell?

A Shenzhen-based vape hardware manufacturer operating since 2015, best known for the Caliburn pod line and the Crown series of sub-ohm tanks. Uwell's Pro-FOCS flavor technology is the company's main technical claim, and the Caliburn's tight mouth-to-lung draw is what made it the standard beginner recommendation across vaping communities.

Is Uwell going out of business?

We've seen this rumor circulate in vaping forums, and we have no indication it's accurate. Uwell products remain in production and in distribution, and everything on this page is currently stocked and shipping. Rumors like this tend to spread when a specific model gets discontinued or a regional distributor changes, which happens routinely across the industry. If a particular Caliburn variant becomes hard to find, that's usually a model refresh rather than a company exit.

Which Caliburn should I buy?

The A3S if you want the simplest possible device with the tightest draw — no buttons, no settings, nothing to learn. It's the model we recommend to anyone coming off cigarettes. The G-series adds a button, adjustable airflow, and larger capacity if you want more control.

How long do Caliburn pods last?

One to two weeks for most people. Sweetened dessert and tobacco juices caramelize on the coil and shorten pod life considerably; clean fruit and menthol run longest. Replace as soon as flavor drops noticeably — a burnt pod doesn't recover, and pushing through just makes the last few days unpleasant.

Can I refill a Caliburn pod?

Yes. Caliburn pods are refillable and designed for repeated fills until the built-in coil wears out — typically 10 to 20 refills. Top up before the tank runs dry rather than after; running the wick empty is what kills coils early.

What juice should I use?

Nicotine salts at 25mg or 50mg. That's what these devices were designed around — the high-resistance coils and low wattage suit salts, and the tight draw plus fast nicotine delivery is what actually kills a craving. Freebase at 3mg won't satisfy in a device like this. Browse all vape juice.

Is Uwell better than GeekVape or SMOK?

For a tight MTL pod experience, Uwell is the strongest of the three — that's the Caliburn's whole design brief. GeekVape wins on durability if you're rough on hardware, and its Aegis line survives abuse that would end most devices. SMOK wins on cheap, widely available coils. Our best pod vapes guide compares them directly.

Can I fly with one?

Carry-on only, never checked baggage. Empty the pod before flying — cabin pressure changes cause leaks. See taking a vape on a plane.
