Vape Pods: The Refill That Keeps Your Device Alive
A vape pod is the removable liquid reservoir on a pod system — usually with a mesh coil built into it. When flavor fades, you swap the pod rather than the device. That’s the entire economics of pod vaping: a $13 kit lasts years, and you spend a few dollars every week or two keeping it running.
Pods are strictly device-specific, and a brand match isn’t enough. Caliburn G3 pods don’t fit a Caliburn A3S; XROS pods don’t fit a Luxe X. Check the exact series name printed on your current pod before ordering. Everything here ships from our US warehouse.

Disposable Pods vs. Refillable Pods
Two different products share the word “pod,” and it’s worth being clear about which you need:
- Refillable pods — you add your own e-liquid. Everything in the sections above. Cheapest per ml, widest flavor choice.
- Pre-filled disposable pods — arrive full, get binned when empty, and pair with a reusable battery. The RAZ VUE 50K pod, Off-Stamp Crystal Cube 35K pod, and DOJO iMate X 40K pod all work this way. Browse them in disposable pods and detachable vapes.
Both cut waste compared to throwing away a whole device. Refillable cuts cost further.
Understanding Ohms on a Pod
The number printed on a pod — 0.4Ω, 0.8Ω, 1.2Ω — is the coil’s electrical resistance, and it determines almost everything about how the pod performs:
- Higher resistance (0.8Ω–1.5Ω) — tight mouth-to-lung draw, less vapor, less liquid consumed. Built for nicotine salts at 25mg or 50mg. This is what most pod kits use.
- Lower resistance (0.15Ω–0.6Ω) — looser lung draw, more vapor, faster liquid use. Needs more power and lower-nicotine freebase juice at 3–6mg.
Many pod families sell the same shell in multiple resistances. Buying the wrong one won’t damage anything, but a 0.4Ω pod loaded with 50mg salt will hit far harder than you want. Match the ohm rating to the juice, not just the device.
Getting the Most From a Pod
- Prime before first use. Fill through the port, leave a small air gap, then wait a full ten minutes. Firing dry cotton ruins a pod in under a second — see how to prime a coil.
- Draw gently. Pods aren’t disposables. Hard fast pulls flood the coil and cause gurgling.
- Avoid heavily sweetened juice. Sucralose caramelizes on mesh and is the single biggest factor in short pod life. Clean fruit and menthol blends run noticeably longer.
- Refill before it runs dry. Top up at a quarter full rather than letting the wick starve.
If flavor turns harsh, see why your vape tastes burnt. For gurgling and spitback, our guide on popping and crackling covers the causes.
Complete devices are in pod kits. Separate coils for tank setups are in vape coils. Everything else is in accessories and hardware.
Vape Pod FAQs
What are vape pods?
Small removable containers that hold e-liquid and, in most cases, the heating coil. They snap or slide into a pod system rather than screwing on like a tank. Refillable pods you fill yourself; pre-filled pods arrive full and get replaced whole.
What do the ohms mean on vape pods?
Ohms measure the coil’s electrical resistance. Lower ohms mean more current, more heat, more vapor, and faster liquid consumption — suited to low-nicotine freebase juice. Higher ohms mean a tighter, cooler draw with less vapor — suited to nicotine salts. Most pod kits ship with 0.8Ω or higher for exactly that reason.
How long do vape pods last?
One to two weeks for most people. Sweetened dessert and tobacco blends can cut that to under a week; clean fruit and menthol can stretch it past three. Replace as soon as flavor drops noticeably — a burnt pod doesn’t recover, and pushing through just makes the last few days unpleasant.
How much are vape pods?
Roughly $5 to $16 depending on brand and pack size, which works out to $2 to $4 per pod in a multipack. At one to two weeks each, that’s about $8 to $15 a month — against $60 or more if you were replacing disposables at equivalent usage.
Are vape pods universal?
No. They’re the most device-specific component in vaping, and even within one brand the series don’t cross over. Caliburn A2, G, G2, G3, and GPP pods are all different. Read the exact name on your current pod before ordering.
Can I refill a pre-filled pod?
Sometimes physically, rarely well. Pre-filled pods aren’t designed to be opened, and the coil is usually near the end of its life by the time the liquid runs out. If you want to refill, buy a refillable pod system instead — see pod kits.
What juice should I put in my pod?
Nicotine salts at 25mg or 50mg for standard high-resistance pods. Freebase at 3–6mg only if your pod is sub-ohm and your device supports the wattage. Browse all vape juice.
Why is my new pod leaking?
Usually overfilling with no air gap, a pod that isn’t fully seated, or hard draws flooding the coil. Cabin pressure is another cause — empty the pod before flying. See taking a vape on a plane.
How many should I buy at once?
Multipacks cost meaningfully less per pod, and a 4-pack covers about two months. Buy before you run out — a burnt pod with no spare is the most common reason people drift back to disposables.
